The official X account of Shonen Jump announced that a special one-shot manga by Kohei Horikoshi for the latest My Hero Academia film, titled My Hero Academia: You’re Next, has been published on Viz Media on Oct 8, 2024.
The one-shot is titled My Hero Academia Special One-Shot Manga: A Piece of Cake.
My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You’re Next hit the Japanese theatres on Aug 2, 2024, and is scheduled to be released in the United States on Oct 11, 2024.
Tensai Okamura served as the director for the anime film.

The movie is based on an original story by author Kohei Horikoshi, who also handled the character designs and was in charge of general supervision of the movie. The author said that the events of the movie will align with the chronology of the My Hero Academia anime.
The movie is set in the same timeline as the seventh season of the anime.
My Hero Academia is a manga series written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi. It was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from July 2014 to Aug 2024, with its chapters collected into 41 tankobon volumes as of August 2024.
The series has numerous spin-off manga, including My Hero Academia: Smash!!, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes and My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions.
It has also been adapted into an anime series by Bones.
The first season aired in Japan from April to June 2016, followed by a second season from April to September 2017, then a third season from April to September 2018, a fourth season from October 2019 to April 2020, a fifth season from March to September 2021, a sixth season from October 2022 to March 2023, and a seventh season which premiered in May 2024.
It has also received three animated films, titled My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, and My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission, and nine original video animations (OVAs).
